The panel drew over 200 attendees, sparking conversations about preventing injustice and supporting freed clients.
Staff and students also erected IIP's annual flag display on the UIS Quad featuring flags representing the 3,735 wrongly convicted and imprisoned innocent individuals who have been exonerated since 1989. “UIS blue” flags represented the 573 people exonerated in Illinois to date. Collectively, these innocent men and women lost 4,972 years of their lives to wrongful incarceration.
