Lunch & Learn: IIP Legal Director Lauren Kaeseberg with Angel Gonzalez and Nick Colon

Join IIP Legal Director Lauren Kaeseberg in a conversation with IIP client Nick Colon (at left) and exoneree Angel Gonzalez. Angel endured 21 years in prison after being wrongfully convicted for a sexual assault he did not commit. No physical evidence ever linked him to the crime and he had four alibi witnesses who attested to his innocence. Angel was exonerated and freed in 2015 after DNA testing conclusively proved his innocence. Nick was 19 when he wrongfully convicted of a murder he did not commit. His case includes hallmarks of wrongful conviction, such as witness misidentification and official misconduct. Since Nick’s release in 2021, his IIP legal team continues to pursue his full exoneration.
